Hello! I'm Jasmine, a freelance Digital Designer & Illustrator inspired by all things bright and botanical. I create illustrated designs for products for your home or gifting and specialise in detailed hand drawn botanical illustrations for digital print. As well as illustrating I equally love making lampshades using my own fabric designs and working on custom drawn pet portraits! I work from my home studio in a coastal village near Newcastle Upon-Tyne, England, alongside my pawsonal assistant Wilfred (our cheeky mini wire hair dachshund).

 

I take a lot of my inspiration from my cultural identity and passion for nature. I grew up in South East Asia which is definitely where my love of all things bright, tropical and botanical comes from.  From the luscious green jungles to the vibrancy of the traditional fabrics, the influences of my upbringing always have a way of emerging through my work.

All my work starts off as hand drawn illustrations. I then digitally develop these into intricate patterns which get developed into products working with small manufacturers in England using the best quality materials to create timeless products that are made to last. I also try and ensure my work is kind to the environment, opting for recyclable and sustainable materials where possible. When I'm not painting my favourite thing to do is to be outdoors, whether that's a dog walk with Wilfred along the coast or to our local nature reserve or a visit to a botanical gardens. I like to immerse myself in nature, take photos and find new inspiration for my work.

I graduated with a first class honours degree at The Northern School of Art studying Textiles & Surface Design back in 2020 in the midst of the Pandemic. Since then I have worked as a Lampshade Studio Manager for a couple of years and now work as a freelance digital designer whilst running  my small business.
